 BUILD-A-BEAR WORKSHOP
    The Build-A-Bear Workshop Foundation is committed to improving communities and impacting lives by supporting programs throughout the United States that address the needs of children and families, animals, and the environment. Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000, with an average of $2,500. Build-A-Bear Workshop also provides gift certificate donations


AUGUST 7 MEETING IN TYLER
     Next week we’ll be releasing registration information and further details about the August 7 workshop and regional meeting at the Ornelas Activity Center on the UT Tyler Campus.   This event will feature representatives from several of our jobbers to demonstrate how to use their search tools and catalogs to serve special populations or address specific needs.  Leased books plans and the new NETLS leased book agreements will be presented by representatives from McNaughton (Brodart) and Baker & Taylor.  We’ll have some “meet the Coordinator” time and lots more...  everyone is welcome!  More soon!


 GRAPHIC MYTHS & LEGENDS
     July’s featured NetLibrary title (free this month for all TSLAC NetLibrary users) is a graphic novel of Beowulf  To read the story, log in to your NetLibrary personal account and click on the featured title on the right side of the screen.  The full Myths and Legends series by Graphic Universe is available in print from Lerner Publishing.

     SENIOR LIBRARY ASSISTANT FULL PAY RANGE $16.97 - $23.94 PER HOUR

Duties include advising and assisting library patrons and may require lifting up to 60 pounds frequently. An Associate’s degree, or equivalent, from an accredited college or university with a major in liberal arts or a related field and one year of library experience required. Must have knowledge of library practices and computers and have excellent customer service skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills beneficial. Hours may vary and include evenings and weekends. Clerical and typing test may be required. Posting closes July 15.
